About
Foundation Nordic Summer University - Insamlingsstiftelsen Nordiskt sommaruniversitet is dedicated to make Nordic Summer University completely financially independent over time, to be able to continue to contribute to the development of the Nordic and Baltic collaboration, research and innovation, as well as to function as a knowledge base for academic collegial democracy in a wider European perspective.
What we do
Empowering communities through sustainable initiatives to create positive change and opportunities for all.
Since its inception in 1950, the organization has played a crucial research-initiating role in the Nordic countries. Such an impact on the Nordic research environment has been possible because NSU's study circles have offered a unique interdisciplinary meeting place to discuss themes that have not yet been established as recognized fields of research.
Nordic Summer University strengthens civil society's resilience against the influence of (dis)information through a well-established collaboration between cultural actors, voluntary organizations and science.
Fostering collaboration between Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as presenting the Nordic model of folkbildning to the world. Opening topics to be approached from academic, artistic, technical and humanistic perspectives.
